Sajek Valley is a remote and scenic hill station situated in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. The valley is surrounded by lush green hills, thick forests, and crystal-clear streams, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.
Recently, I had the chance to visit Sajek Valley The trip to Sajek was quite the adventure, and the experience will never be forgotten. Below is a short summary of my trip to Sajek Valley.
Getting there:
To get to Sajek Valley, one needs to travel to Khagrachhari first. I traveled by bus, which took 7-8 hours, from Dhaka to Khagrachhari.From there, I hired a local jeep which took me to Sajek Valley.Almost three hours are required to get from Khagrachhari to Sajek,and the route is mountainous and rocky. But the scenic beauty of the surrounding hills and valleys makes up for the discomfort of the journey.
The stay:
Once I reached Sajek Valley, I stayed at a resort which was situated on the hilltop. The resort had basic amenities but the view from the balcony was breathtaking. The clouds were hovering over the valley and the view of the surrounding hills was mesmerizing.
Exploring the valley:
The next day, I started exploring the valley. The valley is surrounded by hills and forests, and the Sajek river flows through the valley. The valley is home to the indigenous people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, who have their own distinct culture and language.
Konglok Para village: It is a traditional village of the indigenous people. The villagers were friendly and welcoming and I got to learn about their way of life and culture. The village is also known for its handicrafts, and I bought some souvenirs to take back home.
Ruilui Para: It is a beautiful waterfall located in Sajek Valley. The waterfall cascades down
from a height of around 200 feet and offers a stunning view of the valley.
Hajacchora Waterfall: It is located at slightly eastern side from the Dighinala khagrachhari district. Local people are familiar with this waterfall by the name, "10 number waterfall"
Alutila Cave: It is 100 meters long. It has a natural subway like shape with cold waterflowing at bottom.It is so dark that torches are used to see well enough to walk around the cave.
In conclusion, my experience of exploring Sajek Valley was an unforgettable one.The valley's natural beauty and the warmth of its people left a lasting impression on me. I would definitely recommend visiting Sajek Valley to anyone who wants to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of Bangladesh.
