The Baadshah of Bollywood

 Year 1992 , a bollywood movie named 'Deewana' released in mid of the year. In that movie there was a guy playing the role of second lead actor who later went on to win the filmfare award for best debut actor and the actor is none other than the baadshah of bollywood Shah Rukh Khan. Deewana became a box office hit and boosted the career of Shah Rukh Khan and from that, there was no turning back for him.

In the year 1965 on 2nd of november, Shah Rukh Khan was born in New Delhi. From very early age he was passionate about acting. While studying in college, he most of the time spent his hours in Delhi Theater. In early days of his acting career he attended National School of Drama to improve his acting skills. At the age of 23 he left Delhi for the city of dreams, Mumbai in 1988. Shortly after coming to Mumbai he grabbed a role in a small tv and made his acting debut in a serial named 'Dil Dariya.' In 1990 he got a role in another tv serial named 'Fauji' which gave him a quite recognition. After that he made his bollywood debut through the movie 'Deewana' as I mentioned before and SRK gathered a huge audience by his charm and great acting skills just by only one film. Later on he kept getting offers for more movies. As a result he did 4 movies in 1992. In the year 1993-94 he changed his role and started doing negative roles and gave us 2 great films in his early days. 'Darr' and 'Baazigar' both were box office hits and Shah Rukh Khan won the filmfare award for best performance in negative role by acting in the role of an anti hero.

Year 1995 has to be Shah Rukh Khan's biggest year in his entire career as he delivered the best romantic movie of bollywood 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' which became a bollywood sensation and the biggest hit of indian cinema history. The film is running in the theaters even after 1000 week and still counting. It is an achievement of Shah Rukh Khan that the other actors of bollywood can't even think of. By doing this movie Shah Rukh Khan started to grab global attention and earned the name of romantic-hero of bollywood. From starting his career in 1992 to 1999 was like a dream start for Shah Rukh but 1999-2003 he faced many ups and downs and his movies underperformed at box office. In this span of 5 years SRK managed to give only 3 hit movies like 'Mohabbatein' , 'Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gum' and a cult classic like 'Devdas'. Still it was considered as a bad phase of his career. In 2004 Shah Rukh launched his own production house, Red Chillies Entertainment Box and delivered the first Super-hit through his own production house 'Main Hoon Na' and gave many hits till 2010. 

Despite, having a great run from 1992 till 2010, Shah Rukh started to face the downfall of his career and gave many flops after 2010 and his movies couldn't perform at box office as his standards. SRK made a bar so high for himself that audience weren't satisfied by movies which are box office hit. After a big drought he gave 1 blockbuster in 2013 'Chennai Express' and 1 super hit movie in 2014 'Happy New Year'. But after that he couldn't give a single hit movie. In 2018 he did a film named 'Zero' which failed miserably at box office and audience and fans lost their hope in Shah Rukh. Everyone thought SRK is finished and there was no news in media of him doing a new film. From 2018, SRK really had gone underground and was really going through a rough phase of his life. Most of the people, fans and film critics thought he had put an end to his career just like Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bacchan who had put an end to their career after going through a phase like this. But, SRK wasn't finished, it was the calmness before a storm. The post pandemic era must be the biggest black phase of entire bollywood industry as no movies could perform and the movie theater owners were facing massive loss and many many small theaters were being closed. At a situation like this bollywood really needed a movie to revive the industry and all eyes were on SRK and his upcoming movie 'Pathaan' in 2023, and yes the king of bollywood finally came with a movie after a gap of 5 years and delivered the biggest blockbuster and the top grossing hindi movie of all time 'Pathaan' which wrecked havoc at box office on national chain and on the global box office as well. It breaked almost every box office record in terms of earning and the true king of bollywood did really revived the industry after a very bad phase. When SRK first came to Mumbai he was sitting in front of the Arabian Sea and was quite frustrated because of the struggles he was facing but then he motivated himself and screamed while saying 'One day , I'll rule this city' and yes he really did that. He is ruling the industry and also our hearts for the past 3 decades with his charm and great influence.

Another famous incident of SRK is, in a famous tv show 'Aap Ki Adalat' where the host Rajat Sharma calls famous personalities of India and takes their interview on live tv, called Shah Rukh in his early days of career and in that interview SRK said 'I have not came here to compete , I have came here to rule' and I bet that is the case.

He has won the prestigious filmfare award 14 times equalling the number of legend Dilip Kumar. Also, he got Padma Shri award from the government of India.

According to a report of Forbes, Shah Rukh is one of the 40 most influential men of the world also he is the richest actor. He earns more than any other actor just by endorsement. Shah Rukh Khan is not just a name it's a brand.

In the pandemic time he was twitting back to his fans and in a tweet he said 'Haha , Main khud bollywood hoon' which means he's bollywood himself and yes that's the truth.

 

No one could come close to SRK in terms of acting or success in the past 3 decades. One cannot complete writing about SRK. He's a kind of a person that everyone loves. In other words he's just awesome as a human being also as an actor and the most humble yet having so much popularity and this much huge fan following world wide. The hindi film industry would never get another Shah Rukh. He's the last of the stars, the true star, the king of romance, the king of hearts, the savior of bollywood, the one and only baadshah of bollywood Shah Rukh Khan.
